Traditional Senior Pictures

So the other day I used my sister, as usual, to do some traditional senior pictures.

Babies

Babies can be impossible to photography. They don't listen, they do whatever they want. Now granted the only baby I have ever really taken a lot of pictures of is my dear sweet niece and she is one happy and content baby so I am far from a pro. What I have noticed is you can get some amazing pictures when they are asleep since they don't care what's going on. Also, you gotta get down to their level and work around their mood, get them comfortable with the camera. My niecey always stares at the camera for a few shots before she seems to get used to it and doesn't mind.

Portraits

So I haven't really done a whole lot of portrait photography. These are a few examples of the type of portraits I have done.


Not like your traditional senior pictures but I did just finish shooting some, of my sister as usual! I will post some at a later date!

Nature

Well let's just start with what I have the most of, nature shots!

This first batch are ones where I didn't do drastic editing in Photoshop. Some color balance tinkering, some contrast moves. Nothing like color replacement or accent.

Intro

Alright so I thought that since at this point in time I am unemployed, why not start a little...I don't want to call it a business since it is far from being one...a little website, a portfolio of sorts.

The goal of this new site is to show off some of my photography skillz (yes with a z!) to whoever wants to look at it. Do I want to try to turn a profit? Sure but that really isn't the goal at this point. I'm just trying to showcase my stuff. I am open to doing whatever in terms of photography. I am in no ways a professional but I think I have decent skills. I'm always trying to expand on them.

Like I said, I do pretty much anything when it comes to photography. I have centered on nature because I find it to be the easiest to work with. I've done some portrait work but more in terms of portraits as art.

I'm branching out into more pop art/composite photography. I'm starting to use Photoshop more for editing and manipulation to create new sorts of shots.

So yeah...look for some postings of examples and whatnot.

Oh! Why Double Clutch? Well, I wanted to give it a snazzy name instead of something lame like "Katie's House of Picture Takin.'" Since I love baseball I browsed through a glossary of baseball terms to come up with one that I thought could be applied to photography. I'm not quite sure how Double Clutch is doing just that as of right now but I'll come up with something! I think it just sort of rolls of the tongue, no?
